Mike and I have had such a great time getting to know other families in the area that are adopting through IAN during our 4 months of adoptive parenting classes, that we decided to try to organize additional get-togethers so that we can all hang out with other people who understand:
- A passionate call to adopt
- A love for Ethiopian children
- The questions, concerns, worries and celebrations surrounding adoption
- The ridiculous nature of being way too invested in the question "Where are you on the list?"
- A desire to form friendships with other families who will also someday have a multi-cultural family through adoption

ReplyDeleteWe will definitely be there…I just need to check my younger one’s baseball schedule, but we will work around it. Sounds like a great time.
I loved what you said at class last week and wanted to add that I also think it will be great for our bio kids to have other similar kids to bond with over being a sibling to a different race adopted child. I’m sure they’ll have needs and issues too.

PS I got all excited again over today’s referral but it only helped those under #15!! I’m thinking maybe someone stepped up for the two that were on the waiting child list.
